iPad Apps

There are many lists of  children's iPad apps available for parents and teachers, and the list grows and changes daily. I could never hope to share all of the apps that are out there, so I will simply share a few of my favorites!

PBS Kids 
- Videos available to watch anytime - select favorite PBS characters and enjoy!

BrainPop
- The Brain Pop slogan - "The more you know, the more you know" is perfect to describe this app. Videos available on this app span the curriculum, and answer questions kids may not even know they had!

 Columbus Metro Library 
- If you use the Columbus Metropolitan Library, you will love this app! Get CML everywhere you are with this FREE app. Access the entire catalog, reserve and renew books, find branches and connect with the library through Facebook and Twitter.

Hopscotch
-Programming made easy - using drag and drop blocks. A perfect introduction to coding for kids!

Book Creator
-Use pictures, illustrations, text and videos to tell a story - available for tablets.

Caption Distraction
-Allows you to turn a photo into an authentic looking comic by adding words balloons, captions, effects, stickers, and filters.

Explain Everything
-An interactive whiteboard that lets kids explain what they know - using their own words and pictures.

Drawing Pad
-Create artwork using crayons, markers, paint brushes, colored pencils, sticker pens and more.

Screen Chomp
- Screen Chomp is a recordable white board - children can independently create short videos using this app.

Puppet Pals
- Choose setting and characters to create your own puppet show video!

My Story
- Bookmaker for kids. Children can draw, write, and record using this story app.

Doodle Buddy
- Draw, stamp, paint, and create with this app.

 Hundreds Chart
- Interactive Hundreds Chart - a great tool to encourage children to discover number patterns and develop greater number sense.

Base Ten Blocks
- Hands-On Base Ten Blocks - This app provides practice with place value and helps children develop an understanding of regrouping for addition and subtraction.

10 Frame Fill
- Children use the 10 frames to develop math skills such as counting on, determining complements of 10, and understanding place value.
